Event Background
This is the 3rd annual Whatcom County Open House weekend event. Last year the results were so positive for our economy that the National Association of Realtors decided to back the event this year. The intention of this event is to motivate potential buyers to view several open homes and in turn stimulate the economy.
OLYMPIA, Wash: Thousands of homes in Washington will throw open their doors June 4th and 5th, 2011 as part of the Nationwide Open House. Washington Association of REALTORS and most of the local county associations throughout the state will be sponsoring an estimated 7,000 open houses over this weekend. A Realtor will be at each home to answer questions and provide expertise.
The success of Washington's Statewide Open House held in 2010 was the catalyst for this year's national effort. The event this year is backed by the National Association of Realtors, an organization of more than one million members, with a potential of more than 350,000 open houses across the country.
